Nail Project was a collaboration with Jed Holtz, metalsmith/enamelist/personality extraordinaire. We were invited to create an installation at Spaces Gallery in Cleveland, OH in 2005. What resulted combined our mutual fascination with the prolificness of nail techs in my family, nail art in general, and our love of well crafted objects.
We made and designed 3 sets of large scale "nails" out of copper and enamel: "French Tips", "Tropical Birds of Paradise", and "Moonlight Sonata." We also invited artists within the nail art community and within the "fine art" community to make their own set of nails as well.
